Kawakawa is traditionally used for a healthy digestive system and stomach ailments, its bitter and stimulating properties makes it excellent for constipation and it is used to support IBS, cramping, bloating, indigestion and as an anti-inflammatory tonic.

Kawakawa has been found to help support bladder complaints and a healthy urinary system.

Kawakawa's antimicrobial and analgesic properties make it useful for treating infections, and it is helpful in reducing inflammation of various skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, boils, rheumatism and rashes.

In traditional Maori medicine the Kawakawa leaves were chewed for toothache.

Kawakawa has a fresh and slightly peppery taste.

How to drink Kawakawa tea:
  • Enjoy with a slice of lemon for an extra refreshing drink, sweeten with honey if desired.
